The History of Chenaran is divided into 3 eras:
1- Chenaran town before Islam
2- Chenaran town after Islam
3- Chenaran town in recent centuries
Chenaran town before Islam:
· The ruins of Manijan town:
According to some present historical books and documents, Chenaran, as a part of Khorassan, had been the borderline between Iran Zamin and Touran Zamin long time ago and the existing monumental proves this fact. The ruins of Manijan town attributed to Manijeh, daughter of Afrassiab, are among those parts. These ruins still survive in the western south of Chenaran and the northern part of Khorram Abad village next to Reza Abad Taheri village.
· Ghiass Abad Hill
Ghiass Abad is the name of a village in Radkan village in the central county of Chenaran town. There’s a famous old hill near this village which its tiles belong to 4000 years ago according to the studies of the experts at Khorassan Study Research Center.
· The Hill on the Northern part of Chenaran Town
This hill is located at the end of northern 10-Day street called as Daneshsara Street. The antiquity of this hill dates back to 500-600 years preIslamic era which is almost the date of Parthian era according to the experts’ ideas.
· Chenaran town after Islam
An important point should be mentioned here: Chenaran town doesn’t enjoy a long history and antiquity and the oldest civil marks of this town had been seen in the present Ardakan village.
· Chenaran town in recent centuries
Recent centuries includes the Qajar era to the present day. In the 7th century the main Chenaran castle was destroyed in Mongolian attack and a castle called Chenaran Amir Abad (Mamash Khani) was built 2kms away from Chenaran castle which was cannoned by Toossi Government for Khan’s disobedience from government’s rules and the new Chenaran castle was rebuilt with 16 indented forts in the present location of Chenaran and the ruins still survive there.
Worthy to note that the present Chenaran town has been made of the connection of two castles of Chenaran and Hajji Nasseer.
Currently Chenaran town reaches to Kall Karangan from the east, to the Kall Kamblan or Gahveh from the west and Chenaran downhill from the north and the barren lands from the south.
